Strengthening Your Heart For Victorious Living

Psalms 84:5: Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

All Life comes from God, it is a force, an energy that is active, expressive and fruitful. Life is of different levels, and is measured by quantity- the duration of its existence and quality- the excellence of its functions. God created men to live forever and to function at their optimal level! People are the highest of all of God’s creation. Not only can we live and perform on the outside, in a physical environment; there is an inner life in our soul (will, thoughts and emotions) and a supernatural life in our spirit. The condition of the human heart is the Key to all the three levels of living, which affect and dominate one another. A sick person because of his physical condition will cause his emotions, thoughts and will to be weak and vulnerable, which in turn will enslave his spirit in captivity. However, if he could lift up his heart unto the Lord in faith and love, His spirit will enlighten his soul which in turn will strengthen and heal his body! The body and soul deal with the limited natural ability but the spirit is where the unlimited capacity and the innate strength is! The heart is what tells the person where to go for help.

The heart is the seat of our affections, what we hold dear and precious. Jesus is the treasure of our hearts, He is in there by the Holy Spirit and because of that we have the ways of God in our hearts. Even when it’s dark around us, there is light within and we have the Holy Ghost “GPS” directing our ways on the inside. The human heart in order for it to be strong, must be established in righteousness. A condemned and guilty heart cannot be vigorous for it’s bleeding on the inside. That is why A Christian must understand and embrace the doctrine of “justification by faith”, and receive “righteousness” as a divine gift from God. Second, the heart needs security for it to be strong and healthy. That security can only be found in the unconditional love and acceptance of God in Christ Jesus. If you expose yourself regularly to a religious or worldly judging, criticizing and condemning spirit, either against yourself or against others, your heart will be so intimidated, belittled and crushed. Where there is no strength, there will be no confidence, no courage and no vision! Third, your heart needs to rest in Trust and Faith. There is no other place or person for that but Jesus, the Word of God. He must be the Trust of your heart, His presence and His Word will strengthen your heart and anchor it in the unfailing hope that never disappoints! Finally, your heart needs a lover for you to live with and live for. The human heart is made for intimate affection. God loves you with an unfailing and everlasting love, He understands all your failures and limitations yet still chooses to love you all the time. Don’t ever forget or ignore his love; but feed yourself with and drink from it. His love will nourish your heart and strengthen your soul. It will strengthen and reinvigorate you!

Psalms 84:7: They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
